When I was pregnant with my first, I got ambitious and decided to make bagged freezer meals ahead before she was born. While this was a great idea in theory, my husband and I ended up ordering out a lot in the first month. Nobody really prepares you for the amount of time you will be pouring in to one small baby! Ordering food was so much more convenient.
Here are some tips for feeding yourself well after delivery.
1. Try and have several healthy snacks (fruit,
yogurt, nuts, veggies, granola bars) within easy reach (also, "unhealthy" snacks are ok too!)
2. Remember to drink plenty of water. Dehydration can often appear as tiredness.
3. Eat a snack or meal when you sit down to feed the baby. whether you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding, nourishing yourself with small, frequent snacks is super important
4. ASK FOR HELP! Whether it is your partner, family member, or friend, this is the time to lean on others for support
