Parenting is not always easy. Some days, you can feel like you know what you are doing and others may be extra challenging. It's common to feel the overwhelm as you transition to motherhood. When the overwhelm takes over, you may feel alone in your struggles. But with the right help and support, you can feel like yourself again. Making a plan to care for yourself is paramount, especially in the first few weeks after birth.

As many as 1 in 7 moms (and 1 in 10 dads) experience symptoms of depression and anxiety during the postpartum period. People of every age, income level, race and culture can develop Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) during pregnancy and within the first year after delivery.
