Humility & Gratitude

Positive affirmations, as guided by my amazing therapist, Suna had become integrated into my daily routine after my a traumatic birth in 2019. At first, it was a rote exercise. But after a few weeks and MANY repetitions of saying the same positive things, the anxiety started to lift. Slowly. And I mean slowly. As a recovering perfectionist, I wanted to overachieve in my healing process, wanted to speed up through the hard parts. Writing is part of that.
Shifting forward to 2025. I was physically trapped in an elevator, dropped 20 feet and walked away relatively unharmed. Except I just kept waking up every day thinking I could push through physical pain. Turns out that I am not a superhero, so I am grateful to have the next few months to prioritize my health. 4 pillars for healing from trauma: Sleep, Nutrition, Movement, Breathing.
PS. Find a provider that listens and gives you space to respond before giving their opinion. I am blessed with a caring practitioner !
